Hi everyone!
I'll be updating my blog as my former Riptide catalogue is republished to vendors.
First off the line appears to be Sweetwater, which is now available at Amazon and Smashwords for $4.99.
The paperback should be up in a day or so.
Wyoming Territory, 1870.
Elijah Carter is afflicted. Most of the townsfolk of South Pass City treat him as a simpleton because he’s deaf, but that’s not his only problem. Something in Elijah runs contrary to nature and to God. Something that Elijah desperately tries to keep hidden.
Harlan Crane, owner of the Empire saloon, knows Elijah for what he is—and for all the ungodly things he wants. But Crane isn’t the only one. Grady Mullins desires Elijah too, but unlike Crane, he refuses to push the kid.
When violence shatters Elijah’s world, he is caught between two very different men and two devastating urges: revenge, and despair. In a boomtown teetering on the edge of a bust, Elijah must face what it means to be a man in control of his own destiny, and choose a course that might end his life . . . or truly begin it for the very first time.

Elijah
Carter is afflicted. Most of the townsfolk of South Pass City treat him as a
simpleton because he’s deaf, but that’s not what shames him the most. Something
in Elijah runs contrary to nature and to God. Something that Elijah desperately

Harlan
Crane, owner of the Empire saloon, knows Elijah for what he is—and for all the
ungodly things he wants. And Crane isn’t the only one. Grady Mullins desires
Elijah too, but unlike Crane, he refuses to push or mistreat the young man.
When
violence shatters Elijah’s world, he is caught between two very different men

The State of Play
I'm not usually one of those people who writes down the things she has achieved during the year. Mostly because that takes a level of organisation that I just don't have. Also, I can't find a pen. Ever.
But here's how things stand for me at the end of 2013:
Books Published: 2 (All with J.A. Rock)
Also The Naughty Boy, but that was a short.
So let's call it two and a half. And while we're at it, thanks to everyone who made this happen for The Boy Who Belonged:
Freebies: 2
Here are two very different animals: Falling Away and The Last Rebellion. (Psst: follow the links to download them!)
Books Written:
Mark Cooper versus America (with J.A. Rock) - out on January 28 from Loose Id.
King of Dublin (with Heidi Belleau) - out in February 24 from Riptide.
When All The World Sleeps (with J.A. Rock) - out on March 24 from Riptide.
Sweetwater - part one written and part two still percolating - looking at a September release from Riptide.
Bliss (with Heidi Belleau)
The Two Gentlemen of Altona (with J.A. Rock)
Currently Writing:
Merchant of Death (with J.A. Rock)
Sweetwater, part two.
Dark Space 2, a sequel.
And two untitled sci-fi projects that are similar in theme, but very different in tone.
And let's not forget The List, which is a Google Doc where J.A. Rock and I put all our ideas...even the crazy ones with tentacles. The List has two parts. The first, called LIST O' PROJECTS TO COMPLETED, has ten items on it. The second part, called LIST O'POSSIBLE PROJECTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE REAL LIST O'PROJECTS, has one single item on it only. But it's a doozy.
So, I'm thinking 2014 will not be the year I run out of ideas...
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to print this post out and give it to my mum to explain how I never get any housework done.

BDSM Week at Boys in Our Books; and news!
Hi everyone!
Today I am over at Boys In Our Books, talking about BDSM, YKINMK, and other acronyms. Actually, that's a lie. It's just those two. Anyway, head on over if you want to talk about kink, trust, and the eternal question: what's with those hats that leather men wear?
In other exciting news, only a week until JA Rock and I actually meet! How exciting is that? Pretty exciting. I mean, it must be. I've used the word "exciting" four times in this paragraph already. That's the sort of shit a line editor would pick up on right away, you know.
And speaking of line editors, wow, it's a busy few weeks coming up. Here's a list of the stuff I have to edit:
When All The World Sleeps - with JA Rock
Mark Cooper Versus America - with JA Rock
King of Dublin - with Heidi Belleau
The more I look at that list, the more terrifying it appears. Oh, did I totally mention I got a contract from Riptide for Sweetwater? Yeah, that happened.
Wyoming Territory, 1870. Elijah Carter is caught between two very different men, between revenge and despair, in a boom town teetering on the edge of a bust.
Contains rough BDSM, cheap whiskey, and handsome cowboys. Mmmm...
And, naturally, a shitload of angst.

How awesome is my mum? Rhetorical question.
So my mum hasn't actually read any of my books. Mostly because I won't let her. This one time, when I was about sixteen, she found this thing that I wrote, that may or may not have been an early attempt at m/m dub con, and I don't ever want to have that conversation ever again, thanks.
Anyway...
I told mum that I was writing a sequel to the as yet unreleased Sweetwater, and she made all the usual noises of encouragement, and then asked me if I'd got a plumber in yet to fix that leaking tap. God, no, okay? Can we just talk about me, please?
I mentioned that the sequel will be from the POV of the cowboy, and this would mean a lot of research since the actual day-to-day activities of cowboys in Wyoming in 1870 are very much a mystery to me. A few days later, this turned up in my house:
How awesome is my mum?

A roundup, an interview, and a blurb!
Today I am not here.
Today I am over at Speak Its Name, where I am talking about He Is Worthy, historical research, and a crack special ops team including two of my favourite Jameses: Bond and Moriarty.
You might also find a (very unedited) excerpt from a current WIP, tentatively called Sweetwater.
Meanwhile, the awesome JA Rock and I are getting stuck into line edits of The Good Boy.
Contents may include:

The Good Boy is starting to feel a lot like a real book. It's got a blurb and everything:
Introverted college student Lane Moredock is in a bad place. His mother has been arrested for securities fraud, his father is on the run, and everyone, including the SEC, suspects Lane knows where the missing millions are. Lane, with no money and nowhere to live, makes a desperate deal that lands him in trouble and leaves him unwilling to trust a so-called Dom again.
Photographer Derek Fields lost money to the Moredocks, and is as sure as anyone that Lane is guilty despite his claims. A chance meeting with Lane shows him there might be something more to the young man than arrogance and privilege, and Derek wonders if Lane might be just what he’s been looking for: a sub with the potential to be a life partner.
As Lane slowly begins to open up to Derek and explore his needs as a submissive, the investigation closes tighter around him. Lane might be everything that Derek wants, but first Derek needs to trust that Lane is innocent—and Lane needs to trust Derek with the truth.
