Reader Reviews for The Island

The reader reviews on Goodreads for The Island have been overwhelmingly positive, and I can’t be happier! Was I worried? No, not me!

Well, maybe a little…

I knew when I was writing it that The Island was darker than anything I’d written before – not in content, because I kept the specifics of the rape and torture off the page, but certainly psychologically. I put Lee in a very dark place from the beginning, and put the readers right there in his head with him.

I would definitely like to revisit Shaw and Lee some day, but for now some other stories are calling me. I’m thinking London, gas lamps, frock coats, those canes with swords in them, and maybe even some magic, but we’ll see.

I just finished reading The Island today and I really did enjoy it. Love how things turned out and I wouldn't mind revisiting Lee and Shaw again. I will think of Lee whenever I see a sand dollar. Great job!

Thanks Lisa! (Great name, by the way!)
I'm glad you liked The Island, and I definitely want to revisit Lee and Shaw one day.
I have a sand dollar on my desk right now! I have always loved collecting them.

Hi, I just want to say that I just finished reading The Island and I loved it. I would really love a sequel and I know I am far from being the only one! I think there are plenty of people who would be thrilled to see a sequel.

Hi Sam!

I would love to revisit Lee and Shaw as well, and see how they're doing! It's definitely something I want to write. :)

I loved the book. I'm eagerly awaiting approval for my review before it is posted. It's rare that I rate an author five stars. It's a bit more rare to rate it two books in a row. The fact that you have only two books...um, I guess I'm saying. I love your writing.

No pressure here (snicker), but when do you think your next book will be out? I've loved both your books and am eager for more.

I'm working on it, Pat!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed both of your books, particularly 'The island' Compliments on how well written they were. As someone who is 3/4 of the way through writing my first book, I am now realising just how difficult this is. Looking forward to your next book.

Thanks so much, Jo! It's so nice when people take the time to let my know what they think.

Good luck with your book! I'll pass on the only writing tip I know -- don't quit!

I just finished The Island. And I have to say I LOVED Tribute, but this surpassed it by far. It was awesome. I am so glad you are thinking of writting a sequel, Lee and Shaw are great characters and I want to know what happens next with them. :) Thanks for an amazing story.
